چکیده

We derive a viscosity from gravitational instability in self-gravitating accretion disks, which has the required properties to account for the observed fast formation of the first super-massive black holes in highly redshifted quasars and for the cosmological evolution of the black hole-mass distribution. Beta Viscose Prescription in Self-Gravitating Disks

Duschl et al. (2000) have shown that the standard model for geometrically thin accretion disks (α-disks) leads to inconsistency if self-gravity play a role. This problem arise from parametrization of viscosity in terms of local sound velocity and vertical disks scale hight. The β-viscosity prescription was introduced by Duschl et al. (2000), which has been derived from rotating shear flow exper...

Local stability criterion for self-gravitating disks in modified gravity

We study local stability of self-gravitating fluid and stellar disk in the context of modified gravity theories which predict a Yukawa-like term in the gravitational potential of a point mass. We investigate the effect of such a Yukawa-like term on the dynamics of self-gravitating disks. More specifically, we investigate the consequences of the presence of this term for the local stability of t...

Influence of viscosity laws on the transition to the self-gravitating part of accretion disks

In this paper we obtain a new solution for accretion disks influenced by self-gravity using the viscosity law proposed by Heyvaerts et al. (1996). We show how to solve analytically the problem taking into account self-gravity. Using this new viscosity law, we obtain a slightly different solution (compared with the standard one) for the transition between the non self-gravitating and the self-gr...

Gravitational Instabilities in Gaseous Protoplanetary Disks and Implications for Giant Planet Formation

Protoplanetary gas disks are likely to experience gravitational instabilites (GI’s) during some phase of their evolution. Density perturbations in an unstable disk grow on a dynamic time scale into spiral arms that produce efficient outward transfer of angular momentum and inward transfer of mass through gravitational torques. In a cool disk with rapid enough cooling, the spiral arms in an unst...

Gravitational instability in binary protoplanetary disks

We review the models and results of simulations of self-gravitating, gaseous protoplanetary disks in binary star systems. These models have been calculated by three different groups with three different computational methods, two particle-based and one grid-based. We show that interactions with the companion star can affect the temperature distribution and structural evolution of disks, and dis...
